Rick Mumford
Associate Regional Director
Rick began his youth ministry career as a volunteer Young Life leader in 1987. During his years as Southwest Missouri State University, he served as a volunteer with Springfield K-Life and Schweitzer UMC. Rick also served as the president of Icthus Christian Fellowship for two years. During his summers in college, Rick either served on the leadership team at Kanakuk's K2 camp in Lampe, Missouri or on Colonial Presbyterian's Summer Staff in Kansas City. After graduation, Rick and his wife Amy went on full-time staff at Kanakuk in Branson for a year before moving to Denver to puruse a Master's Degree in Youth Ministry.

After grad school, the Mumfords moved to Lawrence, Kansas in 1995, where Rick became the youth director at Grace Presbyterian Church. During this time, Rick helped launch Young Life in Lawrence. In 1999, the Mumfords became overseas missionaries when they moved to Paris, France to launch Young Life in the international community.

Once the ministry was stable, Rick passed on the baton and moved to Los Angeles, where he served as the youth pastor at Sierra Madre Congregational Church. Eventually, in 2006, Rick moved back to Lawrence and back on to the Young Life staff as the Douglas County Area Director where he served for nine years.

Rick began serving the Kansas City Metro as Associate Regional Director in August 2014. Rick is passionate about equipping the Church to fulfill the Great Commission. He is a speaker for both youthworkers and youth (check out rickmumford.com for more info). Rick has been married to Amy for 25 years and has three sons, Mack (21), Cooper (18), and Spencer (12).

Bob Lehleitner
KC Metro Board Chair
Bob Lehleitner gave his life to Christ at Young Life camp in Colorado, came home from camp and got plugged into a great church. A few years later in college, Bob began three Young Life clubs and saw hundreds of kids’ lives changed through the life-giving power of Jesus Christ. Now, after serving at Colonial Presbyterian Church for forty-four years, Bob says with confidence that there is no better strategy for reaching kids than Young Life’s approach of building relationships with them, on their turf. Students are searching for answers to life’s biggest questions, and when Young Life leaders are there to establish a real friendship with them, kids have the opportunity to meet Jesus.

Bob has personally led over 100 discipleship groups, participated in non-denominational youth ministry for 25 years and was a Young Life leader over 10 years. He was the chaplain for the Kansas City Chiefs for 9 seasons and has helped manage multiple college Icthus campus ministries. He is husband to Gwen and father to Margi and Trey.

Karli met Jesus through Young Life when she was a sophomore in high school. She and 100 other kids from her high school attended Weekend Camp a Windy Gap and was able to hear about Christ’s unconditional love. Once returning home, she quickly became a part of a campaigners group and built relationships with incredible friends who also wanted to pursue Christ. Shortly after, she attended college at the University of South Carolina and became a Young Life leader in a local high school. In 2015 Karli was hired to be a Summer Intern at Castaway Club in Minnesota where she served two summers as the Guest Services/Ropes intern. Karli met her husband, Ben, while interning which brought her from South Carolina to Kansas City. Upon moving, Karli and Ben have been volunteer leaders in the Ray-Pec and Shawnee Mission Areas and recently married in July!
